About Me

As a Registered Nurse with over 25 years’ experience in the nursing field, I consider myself fortunate to have gained knowledge, skill and appreciation for a variety of different areas including: Adult Mental Health, Geriatric Psychiatry, Leadership, Community and Long-term care. In recent years, my area of specialty has focused on Mental Health and Dementia Care. I have dedicated my time supporting LTCH’s, Acute Care, Community Partners, Care Givers, individuals, Families and Health Care Professionals in identifying care needs of the older adult, determining goals of care, exploring available resources and fulfilling opportunities for education and training.  In addition to my professional journey, I have also experienced a personal journey in organizing, supporting and advocating for the care needs of both of my parents. It is through these experiences, I have been made aware of various gaps within the healthcare system itself, including the following:

  • Different services, teams that do not communicate with one another

  • Lack of knowledge, insight into what questions to ask and to whom?

  • A widely adopted model of care within organizations that is over 20 years out of date

  • Lack of support services for the caregiver, the individual and the healthcare professional

It is these examples that led me to this new chapter within my career. Given both my professional and personal experience, knowledge and skill set, I am confident I can assist you the individual, you the caregiver, you the professional, or you as an organization in achieving your desired goals.  My passion has always been people, and I pride myself in improving quality of life, ensuring quality care and creating healthy environments.

I look forward to meeting you,

Kelly
